About the Position: The pay band NH-03 includes the General Schedule grade equivalent to GS-12/13.Other initiatives under the Acquisition Demonstration Project include simplified classification, streamlined hiring process and expanded developmental opportunities.

Duties

Serves as an Integrated Logistics Support Center (ILSC) Logistics Management Specialist and collaborates with managerial or supervisory staff to plan, develop, or manage integrated logistics activities. Gathers a variety of data to analyze relationships between technical aspects of the total Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) strategy for weapons system programs in acquisition and sustainment. Reviews and provides input to acquisition plans, Life-Cycle Sustainment Plans (LCSP), and other logistics documents; interpreting relevant policy/regulatory guidance; and, determining impacts on the ILSC's sustainment responsibility. Provides advice and guidance to the Center's directorates, Program Executive Offices (PEOs), and Program Managers (PMs) relative to findings and evaluations, and recommends corrective actions where appropriate. Convenes and chairs meetings to assure timely accomplishments and resolves differences between military services/agencies to achieve ILS objectives. Responds to Command or higher headquarters inquiries regarding logistics related goals and objectives. Works in conjunction with headquarters staff, center directorates, higher headquarters, and other agencies to analyze data and develop position papers, reports, and briefings covering a wide range of logistics topics. Tracks and analyzes the Center's performance indicator/metrics to detect trends and isolate causes for declining performance. Gathers and analyzes data for inclusion in quarterly Command review and provides analysis ensuring data accuracy and compliance with the Center and Command objectives. Monitors or establishes deadlines, priority programs, and operation trends. Advises on product and logistics matters, business planning, metrics management, and all other aspects of logistics management within the area of responsibility. Conducts studies to analyze existing maintenance, cataloging, industrial base procedures, and recommends improvements in efficiency and effectiveness. Develops processes, procedures, policy, and training considering the functional areas of supply, maintenance, inventory management, production control, procurement, transportation, resource availability, and fiscal management into a unified program.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • One year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • This position requires temporary duty (TDY) travel of up to 30% of the time.
  • This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for LIFE CYCLE LOGISTICS certification within 48 months as of entrance on duty.
