The incumbent performs clerical or technical program support work for a variety of technical and/or program specialists in support of the line programs of an agency. This work involves execution of specific rules, regulations, or procedures and typically comprises a complete segment of an assignment or project of broader scope. The work product or service affects accuracy, reliability, or acceptability of further processes or services.
Duties
Major Duties:
Performs clerical or technical program support work for a variety of technical and/or program specialists in support on the line program of an agency.
Performs program support functions for one or more agency programs.
Performs general program support work such as the collection, compilation, research, and/or tracking of data and program information.
Prepares, executes, and/or tracks program specific information such as congressional inquiries, grants, cooperative agreements, and/or contracts within an organizational unit.
Researches various publications to extract, summarize, and compile information required for the activities of the organization.
Assists in the acquisition, development, and/or scheduling of program resource materials and personnel, such as hard copy and computer-based brochures and reposts, agency staff and/or volunteer personnel, and/or needed program equipment such as telephones, computers and printers, fax machines, etc.
Monitors all aspects of the operating programs and makes recommendations to improve or modify methods for disseminating information to intended audiences.
Maintains an orderly and adequate level of program supplies.
Schedules agency staff and/or volunteers as required.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 10/30/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-6 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-5. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-5 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Collecting, compiling, researching, and/or tracking of data and statistical information in support of an organization's program operation. Preparing, executing, and/or tracking program specific information.

Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, books, small parts; or driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
