The Department of Energy (DOE), Office of Inspector General is currently looking for a Criminal Investigator in the Office of Investigations. Duties

As a Supervisory Criminal Investigator (ASAC) for the Office of Investigations, you will be responsible for the following:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.

• Suitable for Federal employment, as determined by a background investigation.
• May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
• May be required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450 or an Executive Branch Personnel Confidential Financial Disclosure Report upon entering the position and annually (5CFR Part 2634, Subpart I USOGE, 6/08).
• Must obtain and maintain a Q security clearance.
• A successful completion of a pre-employment physical required.
• Will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program.
• The position requires a valid motor vehicle operator's license at the time of appointment and must maintain the license while employed in the position.
• Completion of the Criminal Investigator Training Program (CITP) at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) or documentation of successful completion of a formal basic special agent/criminal investigator training course of instruction.
• Incumbent may be subject to relocation to another geographic location based on the needs of the organization and mission requirements. A signed Mobility Agreement is required.
• Incumbent must meet requirements for training and qualification with firearms.

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13) in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: collecting and securing evidence for criminal, civil, or administrative investigations for violations of fraud and abuse. Specific work experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Lead an investigative team relative to criminal investigations of critical and sensitive importance by reviewing and evaluating allegations, information, and evidence to recommend appropriate investigative activity; 2) Document, brief, and convey investigative information to external and internal customers; 3) Lead, plan, and/or coordinate investigative activities (i.e., search or arrest warrants) to gather evidence for an investigation; and 4) Conduct analysis of grand jury material and joint operations with other Federal law enforcement agencies to establish facts or evidence. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
