Duties

This position will allow you to utilize your expertise in various administrative skills to provide records management, advisory, and technical services to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) management. This position starts at a salary of $94,199.00 (GS-12, Step 1) to $145,617.00 (GS-13, Step 10) with promotion potential to $145,617.00 (GS-13 Step 10). In this Management and Program Analyst (Records Management) position you will become a key team member of Homeland Security professionals. Typical work assignments include: Conducting and directing records management activities such as inventories of paper and electronic records, creation of records file plans, and directing Customs and Border Protection (CBP) component offices with determining how to establish retention schedules and storage options for their records Developing guidelines, methods, strategic and systems plans in support of Records Management Supporting planning management through briefings, presentations and conferences for supervisors and high-level and executive management Providing subject matter expertise and is responsible for the assessment and implementation of Records Management policies, directives, processes, systems and mission support programs to include, but not limited to, performance measurement and/or public and congressional liaison Providing subject matter expertise and is responsible for the assessment and implementation of Records Management services and processes Participating in in-depth analysis and special studies, personally or through team members, provides advice to managers, and develops and evaluates policies in assigned program areas.

Qualifications

Experience: You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Conducting inventories of paper and electronic records and assisting DHS component offices with determining how to establish retention schedules and storage options for their records. Developing guidelines, methods, strategic and systems plans in support of Records Management. Ensuring Records Management best practices are applied in the definition, implementation and maturation of Records Management services and processes. Planning, developing, or assisting with planning management through briefings, presentations and conferences for supervisors and high-level and executive management. Experience: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Planning, directing, implementing, coordinating, and overseeing major aspects of an organization-level Records Management program Planning, conducting, or participating in-depth analysis and special studies Advising and providing counsel to employees and management regarding Records Management policies, procedures, and directives Developing guidelines, methods, strategic and systems plans in support of Record Management NOTE: Your resume must explicitly indicate how you meet this requirement, otherwise you will be found ineligible. You must: Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 10/20/2023. Current and former federal employees may be required to serve or complete a probationary period.
