About the Position: Position is for an Electronics Equipment Inspector WG-2604-13. This is a permanent position.

Duties

Inspect a full range of electronic equipment including complete functional systems of greater complexity. Perform inspections during the removal, repair, alteration, overhaul, installation, and alignment of electronic systems. Utilize tools and test equipment to analyze the functionality of electronic equipment and systems. Perform visual, mechanical, and electronic tests to assure equipment andsystems meet quality control standards.

Requirements

  • Must obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment and annual physicals.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to Inspect Electronics Equipment. The ability to perform common functions of an inspector. Work on electronics equipment and systems in a large industrial setting, and can use this experience and knowledge to review, and examine equipment and systems utilizing measurement equipment, such as digital multimeters, to test the work. Work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability To Use Hand and Power Tools - ElectronicsAbility To: InspectIngenuity (Ability To Suggest and Apply New Methods)Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc.Theory of ElectronicsTrouble shooting (Electronic Equipment)Use of Test Equipment: Electronics Physical Effort May be required to stand and crouch for extended periods. Lifts, pushes, pulls and carries objects of varying weights, sizes and shapes. Occasionally lifts and carries items that weigh about 50 pounds. Working Conditions Work is normally performed in adequately lighted, heated and ventilated areas. May work outdoors, occasionally under adverse conditions, i.e., snow, wind, or rain. Noise level may be high. Worker is subject to contact with dirt, grease, solvents, and fumes. Subject to serious burns from electrical shock, RF energy and hot components. There is the possibility of cuts, scrapes and bruises.
