About the Position: Position may be filled as a term appointment NTE 1 year. Term appointments may be extended beyond six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years.
Duties
Lead others by assisting, providing instructions, training, or answering questions regarding work procedures and directives.
Check work in progress and when finished, checks for compliance with supervisor's instructions on work sequence, procedures, methods, and deadlines.
Provide a brief to site commander and/or chief of maintenance on the purpose of the inspection, the initial evaluation, and a final report on the condition of the equipment.
Plan daily work and the utilization of available facilities, materials, and other resources following detailed work control documents and pre-established schedules and priorities.
Prepare material estimates, skills determinations, and special tool requirements.
Brief team members on management policies and programs as required and maintains daily time and attendance.
Requirements
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- Twenty Five percent business travel or temporary duty (TDY) requirement on an annual basis.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
