This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI), Business Services Group (BSG), Division of Technology Solutions (DTS).
As a Information Technology Specialist (Data Management), GS-2210-14, you will serve as an analyst and advisor for CMMI stakeholders who need to collect data from the public.
Duties
Collaborate with CMS stakeholders to manage data needs through the lifecycle: intake, requirements, development, testing, and production.
Build relationships and collaborate closely with Innovation Center and CMS staff, internal and external stakeholders, and other organizations on the establishment and use of IT products and services.
Support implementation of interoperability between internal and external ecosystems as required by HHS policies, procedures, or regulation to exchange data seamlessly between stakeholders.
Serve as the Government Task Lead (GTL) to the contractor responsible for executing the system lifecycle requirements.
Serve as a Technical Advisor (TA) and supply technical direction to staff supporting the division’s work.

In order to qualify for the GS-14 , you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: 1) Design or development of relational databases, data mining, and data warehousing; AND 2) Analysis and data management for a large Medicare/Medicaid/Part D research database such as Chronic Conditions Data Warehouse; AND 3) Apply project management concepts, methods, and practices as they relate to Federal contracting.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time-in-Grade: To be eligible, current Federal employees must have served at least 52 weeks (one year) at the next lower grade level from the position/grade level(s) to which they are applying.
