About the Position: This position is located at Army Medical Center Womack, Information Management Department, Fort Liberty, NC.

Duties

Conduct periodic Records Management surveys for the purpose of gathering and analyzing data to evaluate the implementation the effectiveness of all aspects of the Records Management Program. Develop, coordinate, and provide training to all personnel who are responsible for creating, accumulating, or maintaining records within the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF). Ensure proper coordination, integration, and compatibility of short and long-range program objectives and policies. Develop procedures to reduce costs and increase efficiency. Prepare a variety of regular and periodic reports as required.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
  • Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility may be required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series.
  • Selectees may be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
  • Immunization screening may be required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
  • This position may require the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Tier 3 security investigation or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check may be required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing guidance to staff/organization on records management; conducting quality control procedures to improve the efficiency of a records management program; and develop or implement records management policies or procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Information ManagementOrganizational AwarenessPlanning and Evaluating Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
