About the Position: Ft. Meade is located between two major cities, Baltimore and Washington D.C., and approximately 11 minutes from an International Airport. Ft. Meade is a hub for the joint services, Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines & Navy. In addition to many recreational activities, you can tour the historical sites of Annapolis; visit the White House in Washington, D.C.; or attend a football, basketball or baseball game with one of professional and college teams in the area.

Duties

Performs duties associated with administration of the full range of property management as the Assistant Installation Property Book Officer (IPBO). Responsible for the administration and maintenance of an automated property management system Global Combat Support System – Army (GCSS-ARMY) and related systems and operations. Oversight over the entire program and fully support Property Book Officer. Reports property records discrepancies and adjusts property records in accordance with Army/DoD/Federal IMCOM policy. Establishes and implements proper policy for storage of property held in inventory in support of property book management operations. Performs annual 100% inventory of all accountable property. Coordinates with Contracting Officer Representative (COR) and other management officials to ensure proper accountability of all government furnished equipment (GFE) issued to contractors. Coordinate through COR and Contract Project Manager equipment turn-in’s through supply channels and capture new purchases to ensure property is incorporated into property accountability plans. Ensures the update of hand receipts and audit trail records for all accountable property and reconciles hand receipts with the property book. Conducts hand receipt holder training and internal control liaison and audit compliance actions. Serves as a member of the LRC/Garrison Command Supply Discipline Program (CSDP) evaluation team, identifies property management problems and directs appropriate corrective action.

OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Logistics or Supply Chain Management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
