You will serve as a FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT ANALYST in the FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT - N8 of COMMANDER, NAVY REGION NORTHWEST. The salary range for positions filled at the GS-11 is $76,860 to $99,914. The salary range for positions filled at the GS-12 is $92,123 to $119,760.

Duties

You will brief senior leaders regarding financial matters (e.g., current finances, budgeting management initiatives). You will monitor development of financial reports to track status of obligations and committed funds. You will ensure budget execution transactions comply with current regulations, instructions, guidance and policy in order to meet auditability requirements and FIAR standards. You will review daily and weekly system reports. Conduct research and analysis of budget execution data, troubleshoot execution anomalies to determine the cause and initiate corrective actions. You will perform policy reads, decisions and analysis for financial related matters, to include prior year (upward) obligations, unauthorized commitments, and other financial areas. You will provide data systems support for financial programs and databases.

Qualifications

For the GS-12 position, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Assisting in command workforce budget formulation in coordination with multiple Business and Support Lines; 2) Analyzing and recommending costs and benefits of alternative methods of financial management of organization's programs and administrative operations; 3) Analyzing organizational structures and work processes for improved operational efficiency and economy; 4) Developing automated system approaches for presenting reports and graphics for management. In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

FOR THE GS-11 GRADE LEVEL:

Have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
OR
Have successfully completed three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
OR
Have successfully completed an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled.
OR
Have a combination of experience and education that equates to one year of experience. Percentage of education plus percentage of experience must equal 100%.
