About the Position: This Lead Engineering Technician is located at U.S. Army Dugway Proving Ground (DPG), West Desert Test Center Office of the WDTC Director with duty location of Dugway Proving Ground Tooele, Utah. (merit)

Duties

Serve as a team lead within the Engineering Branch of the Test Support Division. Develop production technology processes for materiel associated with the Chemical Biological Defense mission. Design inventions for prototyping of chemical/biological defense systems implementing Computer Aided Manufacturing. Analyze design changes to assess producibility factors such as form, fit, function, selection of material, and second sourcing.

Requirements

• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
• This position requires a pre-employment and annual physical.
• This position requires up to 5% TDY/Business Travel.
• This position requires lifting of at least up to 50 lbs.
• This position requires significant portions of work to be performed outdoors.
• Incumbent may have to work nights and weekends to meet mission needs.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Devise designs for equipment dealing with chemical or biological defense; AND 2) Perform diagnostic tests of chemical or biological defense prototype equipment to analyze system performance. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
