You will serve as a IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) in the NAVY SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT ACTIVITY.
This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.
Duties
You will facilitate the continued development, establishment, maintenance and monitoring of an effective
Cyberspace Defense program.
You will provide analysis of information systems under review for which they are responsible. I
You will conduct Cyberspace Defense investigations and electronic discovery requests, using community accepted methodologies and cutting-edge forensic tools.
You will perform on-site Cyberspace Defense investigation in coordination with the Security Directorate, Program Office and the Navy Criminal Investigative Service.
You will identify operating system security control weaknesses or deficiencies.
You will maintain training and expertise commensurate with the current cyber threat climate as it pertains to protection of classified systems and data.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 612 level I within 12 months of appointment.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:
1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Identifying the different types of potential cybersecurity threats and trends within an organization.
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Find the source of the threat and relay to the customer the possible solutions.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Ability to give briefings, prepare system security and present your findings.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Identify current and potential problem areas, develop update or establish new requirements and make recommendations for fully compliant infrastructure.
In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience includes duties related to the following:
1) Providing technical expertise in maintaining the Cybersecurity Program in network operations.
2) Developing command policies and standard operating procedures.
3) Directing security operations to meet command mission.
