About the Position: Serve as the technical subject matter expert (SME) and advisor to the Director of the Logistics Readiness Center (LRC), Installation and Senior Mission Commander in regards to the Food Service Program.

Duties

Manage operations which involve the planning, coordination, and evaluation of food service activities. Supervise, determine and schedule work to be accomplished by subordinates and contractors. Develop budget requirements for the food service program. Disseminate new policy, procedures, and taskings provided by senior management. Investigate ways to enhance production or increase the quality or work produced.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must have or be able to obtain and maintain any food service safety certifications required by TB MED 530-Tri Serviced Food Code and Army Regulation 30-22 Army Food Program.
  • Position requires temporary business travel approximately 25% of the time. Travel may include site visits to stateside and overseas locations.
  • Incumbent is required to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, (5CFR Part 2634, Subpart I Confidential Financial Disclosure Reports) upon entering the position and annually,
  • in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R, Joint Ethics Regulation, dated 17-Nov-2011.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Manage the full operation of military dining facilities; Ensure funding requirements for food service operations are included in the annual budget (e.g., food service operating supplies, life-cycle equipment replacement, food service equipment maintenance, etc.); Monitor compliance with food sanitation provisions; Utilize automated systems to track all food service activities (e.g., the Army Food Management Information System (AFMIS)). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementAttention to DetailTechnical Credibility Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
