This position is located in the Department of Veterans Affairs, (VA), Veterans Health Administration ,(VHA), Mid Atlantic Health· Care Network ,(VISN 6), Richmond VA Medical Center (VAMC), in Engineering Service.
Duties
Duties and responsibilities for this position include, but not limited to the following:
Constructing and repairing a wide variety of structural items such as building frames, rafters, concrete forms, walls; staircases, door and window frames, interior and exterior trim, and miscellaneous items
Sets up and operate a wide variety of wood working machines and tools.
Install various modular furniture assemblies.
Mixes, applies and finishes plaster surfaces during the construction and repair of interior walls and ceilings.
Interprets drawings, blueprints, and specifications independently, and determines the layout and work sequences and types of lumber or special related materials.
Maintenance, repair, alteration, and construction of exterior and interior surfaces and structures built of a variety of brick, block, and stone.
Work Schedule: Monday- Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm

Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities.
