The incumbent serves as the Office Automated Data processing (ADP) systems/equipment analyst within the Office of Environmental Health and Engineering (OEHE), Navajo Area Indian Health Services (NAIHS), specializing in the installation, operation, and maintenance of personal computers, local and wide area networking, and telecommunications equipment located within the OEHE Area and field offices, and supports staff training and program specific application design.
Duties
The office systems analyst serves as the OEHE Specialist on computers, servers, software, telecommunication and applications programs. The position is generally responsible for the following activities:
Inspects, unpacks, assembles, installs, tests, and trouble shoots computers and servers with associated terminals, printers, and telecommunication equipment using measurement and test systems that may have to be designed by the incumbent, in order to verify proper system performance.
Provides technical support by telephone to site staff. Provides on-site assistance when problems cannot by resolved by telephone, by performing, hardware diagnosis, repairs, modification and replacements.
Provides computer system design and programming support to OEHE professional staff. Develop and customize software applications relevant to civil, mechanical, electrical, and biomedical engineering, and environmental health and safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene, and/or health care facilities management in all previous, current, and upcoming versions of Windows, third party applications and utility software to manage networks, and other standard office suites.

Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):
GS-12: For all IT positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled.

In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
GS-12: 1 year of specialized experience related to the work of the position and equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level. Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Experience that demonstrated accomplishment of computer project assignments that required a wide range of knowledge of computer requirements and techniques pertinent to the position to be filled. This knowledge is generally demonstrated by assignments were the applicant analyzed a number of alternative approaches in the process of advising management concerning major aspects of ADP system design, such as what system interrelationships must be considered, or what operating mode, system software, and/or equipment configuration is most appropriate for a given project.
