About the Position: This position is at the Medical Readiness Command, East HQ, building 1221 on Fort Belvoir, Virginia. The typical work hours for the position are 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday.
Duties
Hold assigned DHA facilities accountable for taskers from external entities; disseminated, coordinated, fill, complete, and evaluate tasks.
Serve as the DHA’s senior leader and advisor for Plans and Operations.
Analyze presents staff actions, briefings, information papers, read-ahead, and other correspondence.
Track ongoing actions for effective coordination on all official Defense Health Agency taskings.
Lead performance/process improvement efforts within the Defense Health Agency.
Serve as a liaison for Service-related taskers, policies, and initiatives as they relate to health care delivery, readiness requirements, and personnel.
Responsible for the management and workflow of the Plans and Operations Directorate.
Assign work based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of the assignment, and the capabilities of employees.

Requirements
- Tier 4: This position is designated as high risk, secret clearance. Appointment to this position is subject to a background investigation to determine suitability for Federal employment and/or the position.
- This position meets all requirements as a category 4 designation, and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the capability of the parent Federal Agency or office to function effectively.
- This position does require travel up to 25%.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes directing healthcare operations in a large medical treatment facility; managing a large complex care system (i.e. training, plans and programs, force development, modernization of the system of care, etc.); developing standard operating procedures; conducting healthcare delivery evaluations; and providing direct supervisor of employees (i.e. manage priorities, performance appraisals, recommend personnel actions, resolve grievances, etc.). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
