The Budget Officer plans, directs and monitors the Architect of the Capitol's (AOC) planning, programming, budgeting and execution functions; presents and defends the agency’s budget; supervises the operations of the Budget Division; and serves as the senior expert and principal advisor to the Chief Financial Officer and AOC staff on funding matters.
Architect of the Capitol executives serve at the pleasure of the AOC.

Qualifications
Applicants must clearly show possession and demonstrated leadership experience, normally obtained over several years by serving in positions at the GS-15 level or equivalent, for each Executive Core Qualification (ECQ) and Professional Technical Qualification (PTQ) separately. Failure to address and meet any of the ECQs or the PTQ, via the vacancy questionnaire, will eliminate you from further consideration. Professional Technical Qualifications:
PTQ 1 - Demonstrated skill leading an agency finance team, demonstrated experience in budget formulation and execution aligned with an agency or organization strategic plan and demonstrated skill maintaining productive relationship with internal and external stakeholders.
Education
A master's and/or bachelor's degree and at least five years of experience developing and executing a federal agency budget is highly desirable.
