This position serves as an Information Technology Specialist located in the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), National Security Division (NSD), Executive Office, Information Technology Management (!TM) Staff in Washington, DC. The mission of the NSD is to coordinate the Department's efforts in carrying out its core mission of combating terrorism and protecting national security.

As an IT Specialist (INFOSEC) you will perform duties which include but not limited to: Overseeing the information system assessment and authorization process; Providing IT Security recommendations and guidance to senior managers; and validating implementation of security processes.

Qualifications

To qualify for the position of IT Specialist (INFOSEC) at (GS-2210-14), you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below AND possess the required specialized experience specific to this series and grade. There may also be a positive education requirement for some occupations, please see the Education section for details. If there are licensing or certification requirements, please see the Required Documents section for details on how to verify you license or certificate. To qualify for the GS-2210-14 IT Specialist (INFOSEC) you must possess at least one year of experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service obtaining and maintaining certification of systems through the assessment and authorization process utilizing risk management frameworks such as: NIST 800-37, ISO/IEC 27001, or SOC compliance standards AND at least 2 or more of the following: Performing vulnerability assessments and mitigation and managing Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms) AND/OR Developing and implementing IT security plans, policies, and procedures AND/OR Providing recommendations on cloud security, network architecture, and/or system administration processes to meet organizational compliance requirements You MUST meet all qualification requirements, including Time-in-Grade, by the closing date of this announcement, 10/19/2023.
