About the Position: This Acquisition Program Specialist, NH-0301-04 position is located in PEO Soldier HQ, Acquisition Directorate, located at Fort Belvoir, VA.
Duties
Based on systems acquisition knowledge of programs, products, and other acquisition initiatives within the PM portfolio, provides acquisition recommendations on program guidance received from higher headquarters.
Serves on PEO and Department of Army's Integrated Process Teams. Integrates PEO guidance into plans supporting Army Acquisition Executives' directives.
Provides recommendations to leadership on issues and concerns relating to systems acquisition, management and technical initiatives concerning PM Office programs and other special projects assigned.
Develops and conducts briefings, training sessions, and in-process reviews to the PM/PEO organization, command group, and higher headquarters regarding critical systems acquisition, management and technical issues.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
- One year trial/probationary period may be required.
- You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position.
- Selectees must meet position requirements for Practitioner certification in the Acquisition Career Field Program Management within 60 months of entrance on duty.
- Business travel required up to 10% of the time.
- Selectee must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience at the next lower grade NH-03/GS-13 or equivalency which includes: 1) Analyzing system lifecycle program information to determine acquisition strategies to improve system lifecycles; 2) Participating on Integrated Process Teams for programmatic improvement; 3) Reviewing acquisition regulatory and policy requirements for compliance; and 4) Briefing senior leadership on program status to convey programmatic issues. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-03 or GS-13).
