About the Position: This is a Plans Analyst position with US Army Training and Doctrine Command, Deputy Chief of Staff, G-1/4 at Fort Eustis, VA. Fort Eustis, VA is located in Newport News, between historic Williamsburg and Virginia Beach. The Hampton Roads/Tidewater area has all the conveniences of a big city with charm of small town and rural areas.
Duties
Support critical issues associated with the development, planning, management, and implementation of definitive plans and strategies to support transformation with a focus on training, leadership and education, and personnel.
Judgement and discretion are used in determining intent and in interpreting and revising existing policy and regulatory guidance for use by others within or outside the Command.
Exercise initiative through research and analysis and typically plans, organizes, and conducts all phases of projects regarding operational or strategic planning.
Develop detailed plans, goals, and objectives for long-range implementation and administration of contingency programs and/or developing criteria for evaluation and effectiveness of the programs.
Skill in preparing project and info papers, staff reports, and skill in organizing and presenting reports and briefings to senior managers, General Officers, and Senior Executive Service leaders.

- SECRET CLEARANCE - This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes work such as: 1) preparing project and info papers; 2) presenting reports and/or briefings to senior management; 3) managing various assignments such as staff coordination, operational and strategic planning issues that impact doctrine, organization, training, materiel, leadership and education, personnel, and facilities. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
