Duties

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY As an IT Specialist (INFOSEC), you will use your knowledge of and experience with the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) to optimize business results and customer experience by: Serving as the principal contact for Cybersecurity analysis, implementation operations, and IT infrastructure monitoring, and proactively addressee imminent threats to prevent risk exposure and disruption to our public health mission. Analyzing short-, medium- and long-range projects for solutions of complex operations or policy issues in areas such as information security, information security reporting (i.e., FISMA), SDLC, Quality Assurance (QA), and others as directed. Reviewing and evaluating security incident response policies to identify the need for changes based on new security technologies or threats; testing and implementing new policies; and instituting measures to ensure awareness and compliance. Ensuring project duplications are detected, project goals and objectives are in harmony with one another, and project goals and the cybersecurity program's strategic and mission direction.

Qualifications

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Minimum Qualifications: Must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.2) Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.3) Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.4) Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. AND Must have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service performing at least three (3) of the following: 1) Providing technical guidance and recommendations to stakeholders on IT systems security issues. 2) Developing long-range plans for IT security systems that anticipate and minimize risks associated with IT systems vulnerabilities. 3) Assisting with database models, research, design, performance, capacity issues and web development tasks. 4) Develop new software and methodologies for data storage and analysis. 5) Performing cyber defense trend analysis and reporting. 6) Designing, creating, documenting, deploying and maintaining GUI-based business applications. 7) Responding to data call requests that are enterprise-wide and working with stakeholders to gather responses.
