About the Position: This is a Supervisory Research Interdisciplinary Position located in the Geotechnical and Structures Laboratory, Survivability Engineering Branch, Vicksburg, MS. The incumbent demonstrates a high level of technical and professional competence to continually develop new technology and research.

Duties

Identify resources that will be needed in the future (funding, technical skills, tools, facilities, and workforce) and acquire them Provide leadership in developing and updating Branch strategic business and marketing plans that are consistent with Division, Laboratory, and ERDC plans Encourage team building and partnering Provide and allocate resources to execute the Branch workload Serve as a valuable technical contact and resource for the Corps of Engineers Conduct performance appraisals and other personnel management responsibilities Strives to establish and maintain good working relationships with other agencies, interest groups, professional associations, internal and external clients, and team members Mentor staff for technical and management positions Analyze proposals, progress reports, and final products for technical quality, consistency, and adequacy

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.
• Detection of the presence of drugs is warranted. This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
• This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
