This position is within the Office of the Administrator, Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility, at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).
The Office of the Chief Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility Officer (A/DEIA) is responsible for advancing DEIA for the Agency.

Duties
Leads implementation of Agency DEIA Strategic Plan, including oversight of working groups and Division staff in Strategic Plan execution.
Oversees the development and implementation of comprehensive reports and analysis such as the Agency Wide DEIA Survey and other actions that support continuous improvement and quality assurance as it relates to DEIA and its intersections.
Coordinates efforts to implement Executive Directives (e.g., Executive Orders, Presidential Memos, etc.) related to DEIA in the internal workforce. Develops and maintains relationships with stakeholders and constituents.
Envisions, plans, organizes, and coordinates briefings and information exchange opportunities. Represents USAID and Office of Chief Diversity Officer, as a spokesperson at internal and public meetings, formal and informal briefings, and workshops.
Performs the administrative and HR management functions relative to the staff supervised. Establishes guidelines and performance expectations for staff members, which are communicated through the formal employee performance management system.
Supports briefings with Agency senior offices and other Federal officials, special interest and professional groups on often- sensitive programmatic issues and serving as spokesperson at the Chief DEIA Officer’s request.
Requirements
- United States Citizenship is required.
- Relevant experience (see Qualifications below).
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered with the Selective Service.
- Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer is required.
- If you have no prior Federal experience or are selected under Delegated Examining procedures, you will be required to serve a one-year probationary period.
- If you select to be considered under Merit Promotion requirements, you must meet the Time-in-Grade requirements before the closing date of this vacancy announcement.
- You may be required to serve a one year Supervisory probationary period.
Qualifications
Specialized Experience:
GS-15: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 level in the Federal service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Examples of qualifying specialized experience at the next lower level for this position includes:
Leading the implementation of an Agency Wide DEIA Strategic Plan.
Developing detailed plans, goals, and objectives for the long-range implementation and administration of a DEIA program, and developing criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of a DEIA program; and
Providing expert advice and recommendations to senior management on comprehensive DEIA challenges and opportunities.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience relevant to the position's duties to be filled, including volunteer experience.
