This vacancy is for a Management Analyst in the Office of the Secretary within the Immediate Office (IO), Office of the Secretary (OS), the Department of Commerce (DOC), located in Washington, D.C.

Duties
As a Management Analyst, you will perform the following duties:
Overseeing or performing all the administrative functions in support of the OS including budget planning and execution; personnel management; procurement and purchase of equipment, including ADP; travel document processing; bill management; procurement and contracts; advisement on office management and procedures, and processing of time critical communications in support of the Secretary, Deputy Secretary, and Chief of Staff.
Performing all of the administrative functions for the travel program in support of the Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Chief of Staff, Scheduling and Advance and Executive Protection Unit.
Advising subordinate units on administrative and procedural requirements and instructions.
Consulting with and advising other staff on various analyst related operations for the Office of the Secretary.

Qualifications

Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This experience need not have been in the federal government.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
To qualify at the GS-13 level:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as:
Developing procedures that assess program effectiveness and/or developing new management policies, regulations, goals, or objectives; and
Maintaining travel documents and records and keeping staff updated on travel regulations, policies, and issues; and
Maintaining all accountable property purchased for an organization.
