You will serve as a TECHNICIAN in the EXPEDITIONARY SYSTEMS ENGINEERING DIVISION, RANGE SYSTEMS ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CTR CORONA DIV.
Duties
You will be responsible for safe, effective, and efficient testing of combat and weapons systems to include ground ordnance and explosives, and related system components.
You will lead complex and diverse test teams in the planning and conduct of various surveillance tests, developmental and operational tests, technology demonstrations and user assessments both explosive and non-explosive.
You will provide guidance and oversight to Combat and Weapon Systems Testing Technicians for such tasks as development, testing, and/or operation of testing facilities, equipment, or materials in support of explosive and non-explosive operations.
You will serve as the Division's senior Subject Matter Expert for conducting weapons and munitions evaluation through military training exercises.
You will oversee special investigations for weapons or munitions malfunctions/failures; represents the Division and the Marine Corps customer at military and contractor facilities around the world.
You will research, analyze, draft, review and/or execute comprehensive test plans.
You will provide Senior Subject Matter Expertise in reviewing, developing, or drafting directives, instructions, standard operating procedures (SOP), or test plans for ordnance and non-ordnance test events.
You will maintain explosives safety Qualification Certification.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This is a bargaining unit position.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band NT-04 (GS-11/12 grade level equivalency) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying engineering technology concepts and practices in conducting test and evaluation of ordnance and explosive operations for a combat/warfare program.
