You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (DATAMGT/SYSANALYSIS) in the LIVE VIRTUAL CONSTRUCTIVE TRAINING DIVISION, RANGE SYSTEMS ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CTR CORONA DIV.

Duties

You will support the Lifecycle Management of Navy Continuous Training Environment (NCTE) systems to include software required for IT systems, network systems, training range systems and infrastructure. You will conduct sustainment planning early in software and system lifecycles, including requirement generation activities, preparing annual software spend plans for new requests and renewals with an emphasis on enterprise license optimization. You will review and analyze DON and industry standards for software license structures. You will provide life cycle management guidance and subject matter expertise to NCTE personnel, document system support strategies and regularly review, revalidate, and update strategies. You will analyze and optimize software allocation and user usage of allocated licenses including approving software access. You will resolve issues related to software management, work procedure and data management.

  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area IT Investment/Portfolio level Intermediate within 12 months of appointment.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing life-cycle management of IT Software assets (e.g. design and development, procurement, distribution, maintenance, utilization, and disposal) to identify and resolve issues related to software management, work procedures, and data management. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
