As a Chief REO Branch, you will:
Be responsible for the planning, organization, direction, and coordination of all technical operations involved in the real estate-owned for the office. This includes properties having one-to-four living units, and the rental and sale or other disposition of acquired properties.
Be responsible for the preparation of normal and special environmental clearances; assisting in the preparation of environmental impact statements in accordance with existing instruction.
Represent the field office and HUD/FHA in industry and public meetings concerning the various HUD/FHA programs.
Render advice and consultation to the Division Director on questions regarding REO, and related matters.
Conduct spot field trips for the purpose of determining adequacy of the disposition program and verification of M&M monthly accounting records of expenditures and rental income.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized Experience:
Specialized experience for the GS-13 is defined as one year of experience at the GS-12 level, or equivalent that is directly related to the position and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience is defined as:
- Leading a team or project that involves coordinating and integrating the work of others into a completed work product which involves working closely with others to resolve problems, coordinating activities, or to gain acceptance of a project or procedure; AND
- Performing duties involving the oversight and monitoring of Real Estate Owned or Bank Owned activities, including repair and rehabilitation, operation, management, rental, and sale or other disposition of acquired properties, appraisals, or underwriting.
Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-13 you must have been at the GS-12 level for 52 weeks.
Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
