About the Position: This position is located in the Defense Health Agency (DHA) Network under the policy guidance and direction of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs (ASD (HA)). The Network is an intermediate management organization providing management/administrative oversight and support to the Medical Treatment Facilities (MTF) aligned to it to ensure the delivery of integrated, affordable and high-quality healthcare in accordance with the DHA priorities.

Duties

Management and execution of business activities, critical support services, and coordination of communication between Defense Health Agency HQ and the Network. Direct the Network’s Operations Cell, access to care, referral management, Organizational Inspection Program (OIP), patient administration, and Quadruple Aim Performance Process (QPP) functions. Ensure that all healthcare delivery programs, plans, and policies are systematically integrated into an overall plan of operation for the Defense Health Agency and the Network. Establish long range goals and objectives, translate objectives into specific projects, determine program emphasis, plan for long range staffing and organization needs, and manage organizational changes impacting healthcare delivery operations. Advise subordinate supervisors on program goals and objectives and makes decisions on work problems presented by subordinate supervisors.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 25% of the time. Travel may involve local and/or overnight.
  • This position is designated as a Key Position and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the capability of the parent Federal Agency or office to function effectively.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).
