About the Position: This position is located in the Defense Health Agency (DHA) Network under the policy guidance and direction of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs (ASD (HA)). This position supports the Networks and reports directly to the Director and Deputy Director of the Networks to include assisting with the daily operations and execution of the Networks.
Duties
Manages and executes the business activities, critical support services, and long-range strategic planning for the Networks.
Execute the Network's business activities and financial processes to achieve sustainability.
Manage manpower and personnel throughout the Network to meet mission requirements.
Identifies problem areas, coordinates corrective action and directs changes to implement improvements as necessary.
Assign work tasks and development opportunities to employees for optimal success.
Oversee integration and unification of programs, plans and policies among Network members under the Defense Health Network.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 25% of the time. Travel may involve local and/or overnight.
- This position is designated as a Key Position and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the capability of the parent Federal Agency or office to function effectively.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with the management and execution of business activities, critical support services, and long range strategic planning for a large health care market; identifying potential problem areas to coordinate corrective actions for implementation of improvements; assisting with the integration of organizational programs, plans, and policies for a large health care organization or network; providing advice and guidance to senior leadership on clinical plans and operations; and performing supervisory responsibilities to include work evaluation, assigning work based on priorities, difficulty and requirements of the assignment and capabilities of subordinate staff. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).
