About the Position: Serves as the Management Support Specialist for the Garrison Command Staff (Garrison Commander, Deputy Garrison Commander, and Garrison Command Sergeant Major). Performs all tasks necessary to ensure that the Garrison Command Staff administrative support activities are accomplished in a professional, efficient and effective manner.
Duties
Serves as Action Officer on a wide variety of taskings and projects, which requires evaluation, analysis, and little supervision.
Serves as reports management assistant responsible for the preparation of a wide range of division management reports in DCPDS such as: CSU, Business Objects Reporting and Admin Tool.
Serves as the program manager/coordinator for the Performance Management and Incentive Award program.
Accomplishes a wide range of administrative and project assignments associated with the initiation, completion and/or continued operation of certain programs for which the Office of the Commander is responsible.
Provides in-depth advice and assistance to the Administrative Office, Directorates, and their personnel concerning particular program and administrative matters and reviews submissions for a variety of services.
Serves as the Garrison Headquarters Training Coordinator and Time and Attendance Official.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A one-year probationary period may be required.
- A secret security clearance is required.
- Business travel up to 10% may be required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) tracking personnel actions, 2) Utilizing automated systems to perform data collection, AND 3) Resolving problems in a personnel/administrative environment. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Administration, Human Resources, or applicable fields of study.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
