This position provides overall administrative and program support to the Engineering Service at the Phoenix VA Healthcare System. The Phoenix VA HCS is a 1A facility located in Phoenix, Arizona. This position works in the administration department and is Supervised by the Service Chief and provides management and administrative
support to the Chief.
Duties
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Main Credit card holder w/ $10k budget; This includes all purchase orders to support hospital operations in Emergency cases.
Responsible for ensuring all supplies and equipment are provided for the service to operate effectively. Supplies include administrative office supplies, professional supplies for Architectural and Engineering professional services, and specialized supplies for programs such as interior design, environmental management, environment of care, and other similar unique programs within the Engineering Service.
Serves as the primary timekeeper for the Engineering Service and other smaller services that need administrative support and timekeeping backup.
Responsible to use the Microsoft software platform to run macros, queries and other advanced software applications to update key information for the service.
Create Pivot Tables, Graphs and Reports in Excel to analyze data.
Use Visio to standardize processes and procedures for systematic work. Systems include: Vista Work Order System, Vista Equipment Management System, Vista FileMan data retrieval system, Sharepoint/Teams management, Microsoft Office Suite (including Visio, Notebook), Invoice Payment Processing System (IPPS).

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 10/26/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS 7 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS 6. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
Qualification Standards for GS-7
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-6 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: performs clerical and administrative duties for the service, tracks, and reports data, and assists with analyzing program, budgetary, and fiscal data.

Physical Requirements: Work is sedentary. On occasion, work will require walking and carrying of light items such
as books, paper, and automation equipment.
