This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration, Office of Legislative Archives, Presidential Libraries, and Museum Services, Center for Legislative Archives (LL). The Center for Legislative Archives preserves and makes available to researchers the historical records of the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate.
Duties
As an ARCHIVES SPECIALIST (Senior Electronic Records Specialist), you will:
Represent the Center in personal contacts with Congress and serve as the congressional liaison and electronic records management staff expert responsible for advising committees of the U.S. Congress, administrative offices in Congress, and other entities in Congress on the identification, organization, and preparation of official electronic records for transfer to the Center.
Identify and collect technical information about electronic records systems necessary for transferring congressional records to the Center and the timely return of those records to Congress to support the current business needs of the House and Senate.
Provide guidance to and work with NARA and Center staff in formulating accessioning, preservation, and access strategies, policies, and practices for electronic records from Congress.
Perform analyses of new technologies being used by congressional committees, administrative offices in Congress, and other entities in Congress to create, store, transfer, or manage electronic records in order to determine their implications for the archival functions of NARA.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized Experience: For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
Serving as a liaison to provide guidance and assistance on electronic records issues and management.; AND
Experience as an administrator for systems created to accession, preserve, and provide access to electronic records.; AND
Research, evaluate, and perform analysis of new technologies used for electronic records management.
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-13, you must have been at the GS-12level for 52 weeks.
