This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration. The White House Liaison Division provides technical assistance to White House staff on records creation, management and disposition of Presidential records and manages the transition of all Presidential records. Will also research and maintain awareness of technology changes and their impact.
Duties
As an Archives Specialist, you will:
Represent the White House Liaison Division in personal contacts with White House staff and serves as the presidential liaison and electronic records management staff expert responsible for advising White House staff on the identification, organization, and preparation of official electronic records for transfer to NARA.
Evaluate electronic records systems in the White House to determine options, feasibility and techniques for transferring Presidential electronic records, preserving the records and providing access to them, especially those records created in the most commonly used formats within modern office environments.
Provide guidance to and works with NARA, PW and P staff in formulating transfer, preservation, and access strategies, policies, and practices for electronic records from the White House.
Research, evaluate, and maintain awareness of new and emerging developments and technologies related to electronic records management systems and practices, the most commonly used records formats in modern office environments, and current technical and business developments in the White House.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-12 level, or equivalent, that is directly related to the position and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position must include:
Collecting and analyzing data; AND
Contributing to oral and/or written reports; AND
Participating in and/or leading project teams.
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable (as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F):
For the GS-13, you must have been at the GS-12level for 52 weeks.
