About the Position:
Serves as a senior secretary with the U.S Army Corps of Engineers, St Paul District, Programs and Project Management Division (PPMD). PPMD is responsible for planning and executing water resource projects in the Upper Mississippi Valley. Projects include supporting inland navigation, helping communities reduce damages caused by flooding, restoring environmental resources and providing emergency response to disasters.
Duties
Receive and screen all personal visitors and telephone callers to the Executive Office.
Receive, screen and distribute all incoming correspondence for the Programs and Project Management Division.
Draft letters to key agency and congressional staff and the public.
Coordinate division training and provide training support to the Public Affairs office and the executive office.
Review, revise or establish operating procedures for a variety of administrative or support functions, including the suspense system, file system, and reference material.
Schedule appointments without prior clearance, based on knowledge of supervisor's policies and availability, including making travel arrangements.
Make travel arrangements for supervisor, to include maintaining itineraries for travel and channels of communication during travel, and preparing travel reimbursement vouchers.
Arrange and schedule meetings, conferences and conference calls involving high ranking officials from within the district, from outside agencies, and members of the Congress and their staff.
Provide clerical support to the Administrative Assistant, the District Engineer, the Deputy District Engineer, and the Executive Assistant on a regular, recurring basis, including extensive scheduling, coordination, and follow-up

Experience Requirements:
GS-06
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes meeting THREE OF THE FOLLOWING: 1) Operate a financial management system for tracking time and attendance; 2) complete travel arrangements; 3) prepare and edit complex documents and/or reports; and 4) utilize automated software, such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, or Microsoft Power Point to prepare correspondence. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
OR
Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business Administration.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages.
GS-07

Selective Placement Factor: This position requires a selective placement factor as a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
Promotion Potential: May be selected at any grade level with non-competitive promotion potential to target grade. Non-competitive promotion potential to the target grade based on time-in-grade requirements and demonstrated ability to perform the higher graded duties
