About the Position: Provides life cycle software support to Intelligence, Electronic Warfare, and Sensors (IEWS) systems. As a lead or principal analyst provides a variety of software services and analyses to ensure suitability, reliability, maintainability, interoperability, and configuration integrity of software used in avionics, electronic warfare, cyber electromagnetic, sensors and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, and related Mission Critical Defense Systems (MCDS).

Duties

Serves as a technical expert regarding software support for IEWS systems in one or more IT functions. Design and implementation of new requirements and modifications to existing software as well as software reprogramming. As the lead or principal analyst, designs software modifications. Evaluates software designs; evaluates systems configurations and monitors implementation. Provides IT advice, assistance, and training to customers who manage the development, production, and sustainment of IEWS systems. Formulate, plans, implements, manages, tracks, and evaluates large-scale and extremely complex IT support projects and their associated requirements and risks. Plans and provides customer support services including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and training.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Special- Sensitive, Top Secret with Sensitive Compartmented Information security clearance.
  • Drug testing is required.
  • Commensurate with mission requirements, the incumbent can be required to work irregular duty hours to include working nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Engineering and Technical Management Practitioner Certification within 36 months of entrance on duty.

Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: completing thorough and accurate work independently, even in the most difficult or stressful situations; occasionally reviewing work completed by others. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: convincingly conveying complex information to customers; presenting thoughts that are well-organized and demonstrating confidence in the facts and ideas; adjusting style when working with individuals with different levels of understanding; using various methods to explain and convey information. (4) Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: solving complex or sensitive problems by developing and proposing strategic alternatives; identifying possible conflicts and shared benefits; helping team anticipate problems and identifying and evaluating potential sources of information; providing feedback and coaching to others to help solve problems; engaging appropriate stakeholders when developing solutions in order to understand and incorporate multiple perspectives and needs; evaluating the effectiveness of decisions and adjusting future decisions as appropriate.
