This position starts at a salary of $118,291.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $153,776.00 (GS-14, Step 10) with promotion potential to $153,776.00 (GS-14 Step 10).

In this Supervisory Intelligence Research Specialist position, you will be the first-line supervisor of a division that promotes the objectives of the Southern Border Intelligence Center and directs the activities of subordinate staff of Intelligence Research Specialists, as well as administrative and technical support personnel. Major duties include but are not limited to:
Exercising full range of supervisory responsibilities over subordinate staff to include conducting short and long range planning for overall branch/division goals and objectives and executing intelligence programs and functions in response to changes in policy.
Developing and maintaining strategic and collaborative partnerships with the Intelligence Expertise (IE) internal and external stakeholders to champion and improve stakeholder interactions to enhance mission excellence.
Ensuring all processes associated with the IE align with all pertinent CBP legal authorities, policies, and guidelines; and complies with accepted standards, including those established by the CBP IE Key Intelligence Officials and the DHS departmental guidance.
Advising executive management on significant issues/matters pertaining to branch/division projects, e.g., new initiatives.
Preparing and delivering both informational and decisional briefings and products for situational awareness and approval.
Qualifications
Experience: You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:
Contributing to the short- and long-term planning through in-depth research and analysis regarding threats to border security.
Identifying intelligence gaps and assisting with the development of associated Essential Elements of Information required to satisfy and close intelligence gaps.
Compiling, collating, extrapolating, and exploiting information from a variety of sources, using creative methodology for unusual problems.
Conducting studies, preparing intelligence reports, and delivering briefings to manager and operators to enhance understanding and acceptance of findings and recommendations.
Representing the organization on working groups and committees.

You must:
Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and
Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 10/13/2023.

Probationary Period: All employees new to the federal government must serve a one year probationary period during the first year of his/her initial permanent federal appointment to determine fitness for continued employment.
