About the Position: This position is located in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Philadelphia District Office, Engineering & Construction Division, Construction Branch within the Coastal New Jersey Resident Engineer Office, located in Pomona, New Jersey. This is a temporary position not to exceed three years.

Duties

You will review plans, specifications, shop drawings, and requests for changes to determine site conditions, feasibility of structures and construction, and to anticipate problems. Conduct job site inspections of work in progress to ensure Contractor' work is in compliance with plans, specifications, procedures, use of materials, contract provisions and schedules, and shop drawings. Prepares routine and special reports, memorandums, and correspondence reflecting the status of construction progress, delays in construction, noted deficiencies, and compliance with standards, materials, and/or contract modifications.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Position requires a valid state issued driver’s license.
• This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 25% of the time.
• Must complete initial 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) Training within one (1) year of hiring date. Must also complete an 8-hour Hazardous Waste Operations Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) annual refresher training
