This position is in the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center, 1300 Pennsylvania Ave., NW., Washington, DC, in the Office of Security, International Security Programs Division, at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).
Duties
Assists the Regional Support teams with designs of physical security projects and security communication projects at USAID posts.
Serves as the technical authority on security electronic issues and requirements.
Conducts security inspections of Agency overseas facilities to ensure compliance with established security requirements, such as facility physical security, guard force procedures, and armored vehicles.
Develops and maintains effective liaison with colleagues in other federal agencies.
Maintains stock levels to support equipment replacement and rapid deployment requirements.
Manages the technical support team that provides assistance to USAID missions by designing and overseeing facility physical security enhancement projects.
Requirements

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI Security clearance.
- Time in grade must be met by the closing date of the vacancy announcement.

Specialized Experience:
GS-14: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Examples of qualifying specialized experience at the next lower level for this position includes: (a) Designing physical security projects and security communication projects to assist support teams; (b) Serving as the technical authority on security electronic issues and requirements; (c) Conducting periodic reviews of major projects to evaluate cost effectiveness and completion; AND (d) Performing administrative and human resource management functions relative to staff members.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience relevant to the position's duties to be filled, including volunteer experience.
