You will serve as a NUCLEAR PRODUCTION TRAINING MANAGER in the Nuclear Production Managers Office, Operations Department of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.

Duties

You will manage all aspects of nuclear production training program. You will represent the Nuclear Productions Manager in contacts with Shipyard technical codes to establish policies, revise processes, etc., on nuclear training issues. You will develop, recommend, and/or implement new approaches, methods, or procedures for nuclear production training program. You will resolve nuclear training issues with the production training administration shop superintendents, and technical codes. You will investigate deficiency reports and initiate corrective action when deficiencies result from inadequate training or may be prevented by training. You will approve lesson plans developed by technical codes or production shops. You will monitor and assess nuclear production training.

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift when necessary.
• Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
• Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: overseeing the planning, coordination, and operational activities of a nuclear production training program to increase program effectiveness. Examples of these activities are planning the training needs of the nuclear production instructors and workers, coordinating technical program reviews with production training administration, technical codes and other departments, approving lesson plans, developing new approaches, methods and procedures for the nuclear training program.
