About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at Peterson AFB.
This position will be filled on a permanent basis.
Duties
Serves as a fire support and joint targeting subject-matter expert (SME) for Integrated Planning Elements (IPE) OCO operational planning teams (OPTs), CYBERCOM, and other joint and interagency OPTs and working groups, as directed.
Provides technical expertise and guidance to commanders and decision makers with respect to targeting effects and possible collateral damage to better inform decisions during targeting boards.
Contributes to the integration, synchronization, coordination, and planning of effects and targeting for Cyber operations.
Represents the Joint Force Headquarters-Cyber, Cyber National Mission Force, and USCYBERCOM at working groups and joint and operational planning teams that have targeting and/or fires related planning considerations and issues.
Conducts policy planning to address the application of offensive cyberspace operations required and the effects across the entire spectrums of competition and conflict.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Three year probationary period may be required.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET security clearance based on SSBI with eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
- Incumbent must be willing to take and successfully pass a Counterintelligence Scope Polygraph (CI/Poly).
- Position requires temporary duty (TDY) business travel approximately 25% of the time.
- Shift work, irregular tours of duty and/or extended duty may be required. Incumbent is subject to no notice call-ins during non-duty hours for crisis action, contingency deployments, and other short notice operations.
- This position is a testing designated position (TDP) in accordance with (IAW) Drug Free Federal Workplace Program. The incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019 (Condition of Employment for Certain Positions).

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one year specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by conducting Department of Defense Offensive Cyber Operations (OCO) planning including authorities, approval and deconfliction processes, execution, and assessments; knowledge of CYBERCOM staff member, staff member at one CYBERCOM's subordinates/components/Service Cyber Components, and/or as a member of the Cyber Mission Forces; knowledge of hacking, penetration testing, red teaming, cyber adversary emulation, and/or other formal activity or training that demonstrates technical understanding of offensive cyber operations.
