The tour of duty for this position is fixed schedule - 8 am to 4:30 pm.
Relocation expenses will not be authorized for the person(s) selected under this vacancy announcement.
Duties
Supervises a group of employees performing work between the GS-05 and GS-08 level. Provides administrative and technical supervision necessary for accomplishing work, specifically developing and monitoring schedules of staff for various technical duties throughout the week, ensuring the overall needs of the unit are met. Delegates tasks to staff and ensures tasks are accurately completed in a timely manner in compliance with CMD policies.
Qualifications
Applicants must have had progressively responsible experience and training sufficient in scope and quality to furnish them with an acceptable level of the following knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position without more than normal supervision.
Ability to supervise a diverse workforce.**
Ability to use integrated library system (ILS), other computerized search tools and databases.**
Ability to identify and retrieve material from collections.**
Knowledge of library acquisitions and cataloging rules, practices, and/or procedures.
Ability to interact and meet with others.
Ability to analyze problems and develop solutions to plan and carry out library programs.
Ability to communicate in writing.
Ability to provide training.
Ability to communicate effectively other than in writing.
