About the Position: This is a Senior Plans and Operations Officer position, located with U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command, Deputy Chief of Staff, G-3/5/7 at Fort Eustis, VA. Fort Eustis, VA is located in Newport News, between historic Williamsburg and Virginia Beach the surrounding area which includes Hampton, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Chesapeake and Virginia Beach.
Duties
Serves as Senior Operations and Plans staff/action Officer, working in the TRADOC Operations Center, Operations, Mobilization, and Readiness Directorate (OMRD).
Provides resident expertise and continuity in a wide variety of operations specialties.
Conducts staff analysis to identify and accomplish TRADOC missions and tasks regarding plans, operational contingencies, actions and issues and recommends/implements decisions to accomplish missions and tasks
Serves as a command-level operations and plans specialist and maintains appropriate liaison with senior and action level staff officers throughout joint, service, combatant commands, Army Commands, and subordinate commands.
Serves as Crisis Action Team member reporting to the Emergency Operations Center as required.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- TOP SECRET CLEARANCE - This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- DRUG TESTING - The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes work such as: 1) managing and execute organization missions or tasks regarding operations, plans and exercises; 2) developing and write plans, orders, briefings and staff actions for ongoing operations; 3) updating and managing the organization Operations Security (OPSEC) program. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
