Duties
Perform field engineering work to prepare detailed work plans including material specifications, contract support, and cost estimates to accomplish various maintenance and construction tasks.
Perform routine inspection, repairs, and maintenance on recreation facilities and structures to ensure maintenance integrity and readiness for operation, maintenance, and construction.
Perform maintenance and construction work of a technical nature at an operational lake facility to include equipment operation, boat ramp and courtesy dock repair, campsite repair, and minor plumbing and electrical repairs.
Utilize various computer programs and software to perform property inventories, track vehicle and equipment maintenance, and process utility payments.
Serve as a Government credit card holder, procuring materials and supplies to maintain an operational status of recreation facilities.
Prepare various reports related to facility maintenance, vehicle/fleet utilization, and property inventories.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires a valid State motor vehicle operator's license prior to appointment and must maintain the license for the duration of employment.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience and/or education requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. In order to qualify at the GS-07 grade level, you must have:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: performing maintenance, repairs and construction work such as: drafting plans and preparing basic material quantities estimates, purchasing materials, property inventory process, preparing reports of payment/non-payment based on inspections; experience utilizing automated financial or equipment management systems; reviews of final designs in support of advertising or bid opening and participating in solicitation of bids, material acquisition, and specification changes in scope of work when changes in conditions arise; inspecting work of both contractor and hired labor, and monitoring work for compliance with plans and specifications. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS -06;
OR
Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as: engineering, construction, or industrial technology;
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent. GS-07: 52 weeks at GS-06.
