The primary purpose of the Program Support Assistant (PSA) position is to perform administrative functions within the Community Care Service line, to represent the Administrative Officer and Chief of Service when so designated. The incumbent is responsible to perform administrative functions that include budget, finance, space planning, supply, equipment utilization, travel, property management, records management, procurement, and general
administration management.
Duties
Major duties include, but are not limited to:
Completes personnel action requests and provides input to position descriptions and functional statements as necessary.
Participates in the resolution of patient complaints within the service and or customer complaints from internal and external stakeholders.
Performs quality assurance activities for the Services, which include daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly audits and reports for the Community Care.
Coordinates, creates, and advises in the development of new educational and operational programs and policies.
Solves administrative problems while considering situations common to the Service.
Work Schedule: Monday- Friday 7:30 am to 4:00 pm
Telework: VA supports the use of telework as a way to help attract and retain talented individuals in public service, increase worker productivity, and better prepare the agency to operate during emergencies. Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 10/10/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-7 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-6. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-6 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Advises service on practical and technical aspects of office administration such as data processing, planning, organizing, scheduling, implementing, and coordinating service activities, Provides guidance to service on administrative issues and ensures issues are resolved at lowest level, Coordinates resource allocation involving salary budget, supply budget, equipment budget, and space utilization, Performs quality assurance audits for the service to identify and correct any deficiencies or problems, Coordinates and assists in preparation of annual reports that include accomplishments, goals and objectives, specific trends, resource management, education, training, community relation, and quality assurance activities, and Creates and advises in the development of new education and operational programs and policies. (Experience must be documented in your resume.)

Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary, although some slight physical effort may be required.
