You will serve as an ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the COMBAT SYSTEMS ENGINEERING BRANCH of NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV NEWPORT RI.
This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-5 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-13 and GS-14.
Duties
You will perform a variety of tasks related to the design, development, integration, and modernization of complex state-of-the-art electronic equipment and systems for US Submarine platforms.
You will analyze USW combat system Tactical Control System and Navigation System design, requirements, issues, and development of option analyses with recommendations.
You will conduct of Tactical Control System and Navigation System studies and issues resolution related to USW combat system modernization and new construction.
You will coordinate various submarine tactical control and navigation aspects, including cost and schedule as well as technical aspects.
You will review and analysis of requirement specifications and technical design review packages.
You will present USW Combat System Tactical Control and Navigation topics, both written and verbally, to sponsors, NUWC project leadership, peers, and other combat system stakeholders.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-4 pay band (GS-11/12 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying a wide range of technical engineering principles to support the operation, function, design and architecture of submarine combat systems.
