This position is located in the DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY, Atlantic Area, Atlantic Area Future Operations Division (LANT-3) Atlantic Area Future Ops Incident Mgt, located in Portsmouth VA.
Duties
The primary purpose of this position is for the employee to serve as Management and Program Analyst managing the Space Launch and Re-entry (SLR) and Emerging Technology Program within the Atlantic Area’s Area of Responsibility (AOR) by providing SLR support policy guidance, and leads the spaceflight support mission of the Atlantic Area.Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Qualifications
GS 13: To qualify at the GS-13 grade level, applicant must have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the federal sector.Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.Specialized experience includes: Advising and assisting management in developing and improving civilian personnel administrative support, addressing issues that impact command climates and labor relations, and assessing and revising organizational structures and staffing; implementing studies for program effectiveness; developing new and revising personnel administration policies and procedures; and communicating program information to management through oral presentation or written reports.
National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.
