About the Position: Serves as a Division Chief for the Department of Defense (DoD) Civilian Harm Mitigation and Response (CHMR), Civilian Protection Center of Excellence (CP CoE), Headquarters, Department of the Army (HQDA), Office Deputy Chief of Staff (ODCS), G-3/5/7, for one of the following divisions: Policy, Doctrine and Force Development Division, Synchronization Division, Engagement & Response Division, Emerging Tech Division, Operational Support Division, or Learning Division.
Duties
Serves as an expert/senior technical advisor to the Civilian Protection Center of Excellence.
Responsible for the execution of improvements to Civilian Harm Mitigation and Response (CHMR) community through development of DoD policies, doctrine, and guidance; support to Combatant Commands (CCMD), Military Services, and Defense Agencies.
The Division Chief will develop materials and provide guidance to help Department of Defense (DoD) components incorporate CHMR considerations into DoD strategy and policy documents, military doctrine, and acquisition programming.
Work closely with DoD and external stakeholders, supporting the development and maintenance of DoD-wide and Joint Force policies, guidance, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

One-year of specialized experience which includes: 1) developing policy, doctrine and guidance related to civilian harm mitigation; 2) preparing recommendations for legislation to change the way civilian harm mitigation programs are carried out; AND 3) evaluating the content of new or modified legislation for projected impact upon agency programs and resources.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).
