This Air National Guard position is for a PHYSICAL SECURITY SPECIALIST (TITLE 32), Position Description Number NGD2162000 and is part of the TN 118th WING, National Guard.

Duties
As a PHYSICAL SECURITY SPECIALIST GS-0080-09 (TITLE 32) you will, manage and administer the Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS)program. manage and administer of the physical access control systems (i.e., Defense Biometrics Identification System - DBIDS). Perform administrative office support functions and develops, coordinates, and publishes all SF installation level publications to include the Installation Security Plan, the Installation Security Instruction, and SF annexes to all installation plans. Perform installation security duties. Manage police services. Manage Security Forces Management Information System (SFMIS). Perform and enforce the full range of SF duties within the military installation. Perform other duties as assigned.

- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.

- Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.

- Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position.
- Position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.

Qualifications
Military Grades: E-3 through E-7
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have knowledge of DoD and AF security regulations, instructions, practices, principles, and procedures including force protection, integrated base defense, anti-terrorism, and physical security. Knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to the identification, consideration, and resolution of program related issues and problems. Knowledge of safety, security, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures. Knowledge of police dispatch and alarm monitor functions. Knowledge of AF Electronic Security Sensor systems. Knowledge of the AF incident Management System and the Security Force Management Information System.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 24 months experience or 1 year at the next lower level, experience with guidelines include DoD, AF, MAJCOM, and local regulations, manuals, and operating instructions. Experience in interpreting and applying a number of subject-matter policies and regulations such as those that apply to access to and protection of classified information. Experience using judgment in interpreting, adapting, and applying guidelines such as, instructions for security clearance levels required; document control systems and storage facilities where there is some overlap or conflict in the levels of persons with access to a facility; and other conditions requiring the incumbent to analyze and develop security plans within the intent of available guidelines. Experience in resolving a variety of conventional security problems, questions, and situations such as investigating security breaches and recommending solutions to preclude a recurrence, recommending security systems for protecting information in new facilities or missions, and advising managers, operating officials, and/or contractors of established security criteria, methods, techniques, and procedures.
