Position serves as a Supervisory Inventory Management Specialist for non-expendable (NX) assets/materials for the Logistics Service within the VA Health Care System supervising multiple supply or material classes/series and recognized as the Material Management Division's subject matter expert serving as advisor/consultant to the Chief Supply Chain Officer (CSCO) and Assistant CSCO on property management matters, material management concepts, practices, and control of all personal property.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 10/16/2023. To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet one of the following: One (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 level in the Federal service that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of this position. Specialized experience includes: planning, coordinating and executing an inventory and materials management program; directing and overseeing the lifecycle management of individual assets; conducting data/information analysis for acquisition planning; managing and controlling non-expendable equipment and assets; and exercising supervisory responsibilities to include planning, assigning and evaluating work and resolving complaints. NOTE: Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. ~OR~ Have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or an LL.M. if related that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. Education cannot be credited without documentation. ~OR~ Possess equivalent combinations of successfully completed graduate level education (in excess of the first year or 18 semester hours) and specialized experience to meet total experience requirements. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Physical Requirements and Work Environment: The work is primarily sedentary and is usually accomplished while seated at a desk or table, typically in an adequately lighted and climate controlled office. Some standing, walking, bending and lifting (up to 40 lbs.) is required. Physical exertions including stretching, reaching and pulling or pushing cares occurs when assisting with inventories or activities involving retrieving items from shelves and cabinets.
