You will serve as an ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONICS SHOP NUCLEAR MANAGER in the Electrical/Electronics Shop, Production Resources Department of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Duties

You will provide evaluation and oversight of nuclear training to ensure improvements/changes to shop/trade processes are met. You will work with other codes and shops to ensure an effective, coordinated nuclear program that supports the overall shipyard goals. You will ensure that specialized nuclear equipment is available and maintained and that specialized facilities are managed and available. You will manage continual workforce training to ensure that qualified personnel are available to meet planned and unplanned work and to support shifting priorities.

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience with electrical shop nuclear trade practices and experience in supervising nuclear work. Experience with shipyard's organizations, operations, communication channels, policies, practices and functions of various departments. Experience with supervisory and personnel practices to manage and supervise shop personnel. Experience with a shipyard's nuclear and radiological work procedures and policies. Experience with resource management processes and project management to support work execution on projects. Experience in effectively communicating both orally and in writing, including the ability to prepare and present highly detailed reports, findings, and recommendations.
